At Oakbridge CofE Primary School, we provide a rigorous and aspirational knowledge-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, based on Development Matters and rooted in Christian values, which promotes compassion and excellent outcomes for every child. The curriculum offers progressive and sequential cycles of learning brought to life by a rich variety of wider experiences that put learning into local context for each of the EYFS areas of learning.
Reading is at the heart of everything we do, woven through every subject, with a strong foundation of Little Wandle phonics and a reading spine of high quality, diverse texts to promote a love of reading for all.
A comprehensive and ambitious PSHE programme embeds our core values, promote equality and diversity and show our children how to keep themselves safe. Our children are encouraged to be aspirational, kind, resilient, brave and good citizens.
All National Curriculum subjects begin in our Early Years curriculum, exposing the children to language that they will need as they move into Year 1 and beyond.
