Our entire curriculum is underpinned by the Parable of ‘The Wise and Foolish Builders’
The Wise and Foolish Builders
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
At Oakbridge CofE Primary School, we will provide a rigorous and aspirational knowledge-based curriculum, based on the national curriculum and rooted in Christian values, which promotes compassion and excellent outcomes for every child.
The curriculum will offer progressive and sequential cycles of learning brought to life by a rich variety of wider experiences that put learning into local context.
Reading will be at the heart of everything we do, woven through every subject, with a strong foundation of Little Wandle phonics and a reading spine of high quality, diverse texts to promote a love of reading for all.
A comprehensive and ambitious PSHE programme will embed our core values, promote equality and diversity and show our children how to keep themselves safe.
Our children will be encouraged to be aspirational, kind, resilient, brave and good citizens.
